The item

What you get

A windscreen camera that starts recording when the engine starts and stops when it stops. Video is 1080p at 30 frames per second through a 140° lens, wide enough for three lanes. Recording runs in a loop: when the card is full the oldest minutes are overwritten, unless the built-in G-sensor felt an impact, in which case that clip is locked and kept. A 2.4-inch screen on the back lets you check the angle and replay footage on the spot. It mounts with a suction cup and takes power from the 12 V socket through a 3.5 m cable that tucks along the headliner. Takes microSD cards up to 64 GB (not included).

    Mounted in ten minutes, the cable is long enough to hide it around the windscreen down to the lighter socket. Picture in the day is sharp, number plates readable when the car in front is near. At night it is darker of course but still you see what happens.

    Simple menu, I set the date and the loop to 3 minutes and that's all. Needs a memory card, I had a 32 GB one at home and it accepted it without problems.
